10 March (part 2)
Another hospital visit. Another drama.
But before it kicks off the husband and brother-in-law of another woman on my mother’s ward arrive. Apparently the brother in law hasn’t stopped talking about me since he cast eyes on me on one of his visits. Both the husband and my mother fill me in as the pair of them descend on my mother’s bed. I don’t even remember speaking to him. Apparently I did.
He has no idea how old I am. Cool. Asks if I’ve passed my driving test. He offers me one of his cars. My mother wants me to take him up on his offer. Very kind but he’s not my type at all. Brash. Old. Common. I notice the husband clocks my diamond ring. I wonder if he’ll pass the (faux) bad tidings on? A pattern seems to be emerging.
